When Peter's father, Francis, is made to retire from the Mill, Peter suggests that his Dad moves in with family so that they can get to know each other better. However, Francis is a strict Catholic and workaholic, and the Griffins' home does not live up to his high standards. Within no time he is instructing Lois on how to raise kids, and telling the kids that they are all sinners. Peter decides that what his father really needs is a new job, so gets him employed at the toy factory. Working in close proximity to his son, Francis quickly realises that Peter is lazy, and the father-son bond weakens further. In a final attempt to get his father to love him, Peter decides to kidnap the Pope who is currently visiting Rhode Island.

Da Boom
Peter insists that the world is going to end at the turn of the millenium and stops them from going to the New Year celebrations at Quagmire's, however, Peter turns out to be right. In hope of survival the Griffins head off in search of food at a Twinkee factory.

When the neighborhood wakes up the next day the trophy is gone, and Spooner Street literally turns into a war zone. Meanwhile, Meg gets a job at Flappy Jack's as a waitress after being mistaken for a unmarried teenage mom (she had taken Stewie out with her). When word gets out that Stewie is addicted to crack, the authorities turn up at the Griffins' home in the war torn Spooner Street to take him away.

Meanwhile, Meg gets her first boyfriend after the Griffin family go for dinner at a nudist family's home.
